The Angurugu Shelter
Thanks to Rebecca & Stan for these photos. This shelter is unusual as it contains numerous images of stone and iron axes which are scarce in mainland rock art. It also contains a great many apparently Aboriginal figures which are likewise seldom encountered.
Stan's images highlight the dolphin hunt - the monkey figure and the wider scheme & the outstretched hand above the whale at centre.

The Dolphin Hunt
The depiction of the Dolphin hunt shows 3 barbed spears - the head shot is perhaps a variety of whop attached by braided chord to the canoe - fatigue and harassment exhaust the quarry to end the struggle. Dolphin will not take a lure - even a Macassan trolling rig which was famous and highly sought after.
