DARWIN SESQUICENTENARY
150 years ago Goyder's 'Camp in the Saddle' at the dawn of Darwin
The purpose of this page is to gather & sort images of 'the camp' with the objective of creating a 3D digital reconstruction and fly through time video of the creation of Darwin incorporating current drone footage with historical images by Captain Sam Sweet, Inspector Paul Foelsche, Florenz Bleeser et al.
The photogrammetry is to be superimposed upon 360° HD drone video with a 3D reconstruction of the camp and a fade through time from 1869 to 2019 including imagery of the proposed landmark hotel development.
The internationally significant Overland Telegraph & Undersea Cable stories ran concurrently with Goyder's Party founding Darwin - critical to the survival Australia's northern capital they are major heritage assets lying fallow.

GOYDER'S GHOSTS
Captain Samuel Sweet was master of the Gulnare - pictured below at right of image. He used a 'wet plate' photographic process which was tedious, protracted & tortuous for all concerned, especially in the Wet, so some of the men simply wandered off during the exposure of the plate and created Goyder's Ghosts.
Capt. Sweet's signature was the anchor - visible beside the boat on the beach - this motif and some ghosts will likely make an appearance.
The metal sheds, tents & other buildings will be 3D modelled and imagery superimposed over the framework to produce an accurate & realistic scene.
